1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal data to operate and improve FixWikiHub:

  • Analytics data — Page views, referrer URL, device type, browser, and approximate location. This is processed via Cloudflare Analytics and does not use cookies.
  • Tool query data — When you use our diagnostic tools (DNS Checker, SSL Checker, HTTP Status, WHOIS Lookup), the domain or URL you enter is processed to return results. This data is not stored permanently and is only held in memory during the request.

We do not collect personal information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers unless you voluntarily provide them through our contact form or email.

2. How We Use Information

The information we collect is used to:

  • Improve the quality and relevance of our troubleshooting guides
  • Identify and fix bugs or performance issues
  • Understand which guides and tools are most useful to visitors
  • Display relevant advertisements via Google AdSense

3. Cookies & Consent

FixWikiHub uses cookies and local storage for the following purposes:

  • Google AdSense cookies — Used to serve and measure advertisements. Google sets cookies when ads are displayed. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Advertising Privacy page.
  • Google Analytics (GA4) cookies — Used to understand how visitors interact with our site (page views, session duration, traffic source). We use IP anonymization. See Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics Data Retention.
  • Google Consent Mode v2 — We use Google's Consent Mode to respect your cookie choices. When you decline cookies, Google receives a ping without storing cookies, and ad personalization is disabled. See Google Consent Mode documentation.
  • Language preference — We store your language choice (EN/ZH) in localStorage so we can redirect you to the correct version on your next visit. This is not a cookie and is stored locally in your browser.
  • Cookie consent status — We store your cookie consent decision ("granted" or "denied") in localStorage under the key fwh-consent. This ensures we remember your preference across sessions.

Cookie Consent Banner: When you first visit FixWikiHub, a cookie consent banner appears at the bottom of the page. You can choose to "Accept" or "Decline" cookies. If you accept, advertising and analytics cookies will be enabled. If you decline, only essential functionality storage will be used. You can change your decision by clearing your browser's local storage.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google AdSense — For displaying advertisements. Google uses cookies (e.g., __gads, IDE) and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits and interests. Third-party vendors (including Google) use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to our site or other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies by visiting aboutads.info.
  • Google Analytics 4 — For measuring website traffic and user behavior. GA4 uses cookies to collect anonymous usage data. We have enabled IP anonymization. See Google Analytics Privacy.
  • Cloudflare — For content delivery, DDoS protection, and edge computing. Cloudflare processes traffic data as described in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — For web font delivery. Google may receive a request including your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

  • Analytics data — Retained for 90 days via Cloudflare Analytics, then automatically deleted.
  • Tool query data — Not stored. Domain/URL queries are processed in real-time and discarded after the response is sent.
  • Contact submissions — If you email us, the content of your message is retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Deletion — Request that we delete any personal data we hold about you.
  • Opt out of ads personalization — Visit Google Ad Settings to manage your ad personalization preferences.
